Department of Music Undergraduate Program Orientation

Discover Week takes place the week before the fall semester and is designed to help students get acclimated to campus. It is mandatory for students to attend in order to receive important and necessary information. Students will participate in activities including, but not limited to:

  • Finalizing fall schedule of classes with faculty advisors
  • Adapting to residence halls or off-campus communities
  • Meeting fellow classmates and returning students
  • Learning about the support and resources available to CWRU students
  • Establishing mentoring relationships with advisors and department representatives

Department of Music Orientation Sessions
Wednesday, August 21, 2019

3:00-6:00 p.m.
Sight-Singing Placement Exams (Harkness Classroom)
All incoming music majors should arrive by 3:00 p.m., at which point they will sign up for individual appointments.

Thursday, August 22, 2019
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Orientation (Harkness Classroom)
All incoming undergraduate music majors required to attend.

Thursday, August 22, 2019
3:00-4:00 p.m.
Ensembles Overview (Harkness Chapel) 
All students interested in participating in ensembles; music majors required to attend.
