Beethoven @ 250
Location: Church of the Covenant
The Case Concert Choir and the Church of the Covenant Choir join together to present a celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday.
Composer Jake Runestad uses the Heiligenstadt Testament—Beethoven’s moving letter documenting the devastating effects of his progressive hearing loss—as the basis for the text of provocative new work, A Silence Haunts Me. Acclaimed pianist and Cleveland Institute of Music faculty member Gerardo Teissonnière is featured soloist in the Cleveland première of this work and in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Op. 80, for piano, chorus, soloists, and orchestra. Selections from the Mass in C, Op. 86, and the “Hallelujah” from Christ on the Mount of Olives crown this celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday.
$5 Seniors/Faculty, $10 Adult, Students Free.
