Stradella’s Oratoria La Susanna
Location: Harkness Chapel
Resonating with today’s #MeToo movement, this disturbingly vivid oratorio by 17th-century composer Alessandro Stradella tells the Old Testament tale of Susanna, a beautiful and pious woman who is confronted with guilt and shame after warding off two lecherous elders. CWRU’s own Susan McClary and lutenist Charles Weaver join us as guest directors.
Free and open to the public. Paid parking available in the Ford Avenue garage, Severance Hall garage or at the meters along Bellflower Road and East Blvd.
