University Circle Festival Chorale

Posted on February 4, 2015

Calling all CWRU faculty, staff, researchers, residents, administrators and all University Circle community members… who SING: Join Case Concert Choir, Cleveland State University Chorale, and Case/University Circle Symphony Orchestra to perform three outstanding masterworks by Beethoven, Haydn and Mendelssohn in April 2015!

Do you enjoy singing, but find yourself without a choir home? Are you looking for a reason to dust-off or show-off your vocal musicianship? Perhaps you performed with the University Circle Chorale many years ago and you would like to sing with a large chorus again? Experience the thrill of performing three choral-orchestral masterpieces in a majestic setting. While no audition will be required, it is expected that members can read music and participate regularly in rehearsals.

This year’s repertoire celebrates the idea of Freude, or joy, and includes Joseph Haydn’s Te Deum, Beethoven’s Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage and one of Mendelssohn’s early masterworks, Magnificat. The performance will take place on Friday, April 10, 2015. Flexible participation options are available with rehearsals beginning in late January and running through April.

If you are interested in joining University Circle Festival Chorale, contact Dr. Matthew Garrett, Director of Case Choirs at 216.368.2496 or chorus@case.edu.  music.case.edu/ensembles/case-concert-choir
