Allison Monroe is a DMA student in Historical Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University where she studies violin with Julie Andrijeski and also plays viola, treble viol, rebec, and vielle. She holds a B.A. in violin performance from the University of Maryland and an M.M. in viola performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Allison presented a lecture recital of early seventeenth-century English violin band reconstructions in the spring of 2015, excerpts of which were performed at a Smithsonian Symposium entitled “Historically Informed Performance in American Higher Education.” Her performing credits include concerts with the Oregon Bach Festival’s Berwick Academy, the Washington Bach Consort, and the Brecon Baroque Festival Orchestra. She particularly enjoyed performing alongside Sequentia as a student at the 2015 Early Music Vancouver Festival’s Medieval Programme final concert.
