Scheduling Harkness Chapel
Harkness Reservation Request Form
Music Department rehearsals, performances and classes are the primary functions of Harkness Chapel during the Academic year.
To accommodate the scheduling of student recitals, note the following schedule:

- There will be a maximum of one (1) non-departmental event per week, not counting CIM recitals. No non-departmental events will be scheduled in the last month of each semester.
- Final confirmation of an event will be made only after faculty approval has been given. Student recitals require written permission from the applied teacher and advisor.
- Departmental groups may rehearse up to a total of four (4) hours on a space-available basis. Non-departmental organizations are permitted one (1) two hour dress rehearsal per event. Fees may apply for extra rehearsal time. Rehearsals after hours must have a monitor present.
- Everyone using the performance hall is required to leave it in a state of tidiness equal to or exceeding that in which it was found. All equipment not owned by the university is to be removed immediately following the event. All equipment belonging to the university (chairs, stands, etc.) is to be returned to its customary place. The keyboard instruments may not be moved except by prior arrangement. Do not unplug the damp chaser on the piano. Failure to adhere to these regulations may result in refusal of future use of Harkness Chapel and charges for any incurred damage. Equipment may not be stored in the Chapel. (See expectations of use)
- Use of the performance hall does not imply use of the classroom. Permission is required, additional fees may apply, and a monitor or stage manager is required to be present.
- The Music Department will notify campus security of your presence in Harkness Chapel.
- All functions in Harkness require a monitor and/or stage manager unless permission is given by the faculty. (See fee schedule)
- Seating capacity for Harkness Chapel is 450.
