On Saturday, September 27, several undergraduate and graduate Music Education students participated in the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association (OCMEA) Fall Conference. Students engaged in interactive general music workshops and listened to presentations focused on best practices for school music teachers. Sessions included creative uses of music technology in the classroom, suggestions on how to reach a larger population of school students, and professional tips from an experienced school administrator. After an eventful day, our CWRU group left with helpful knowledge, altered perspectives and new friends from other Ohio collegiate music education programs. Special thanks to Dr. Nathan Kruse for accompanying student chapter members to the Columbus event!
