Child’s Play: Early Works by Mozart, Arriaga, and others

Most people know that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a child prodigy, but few have heard of Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga, a talented youth from Basque country who composed many captivating works, including an opera, before his death at age 19. Experience Arriaga’s skillful quartets alongside Mozart’s, plus works by other young composers, in this concert full of discoveries.
Free and open to the public. Paid parking available in the Ford Avenue garage, Severance Hall garage or at the meters along Bellflower Road and East Blvd.
2018-19 marks the 50th Anniversary of an exceptional partnership between Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Since 1968, these two distinguished institutions have participated in an integrated music program at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The JMP allows students at both institutions to take advantage of the resources of a major research university as well as those of a leading conservatory.
