“Ut pictura musica: Gesture in the Madrigal Repertory of the Ferrarese Concerto delle Donne”
 
Margaret will present her final lecture-recital in partial fulfillment of the DMA in Historical Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University. She will present a lecture on gesture in the madrigal repertory of the concerto delle donne at the Este Court in Ferrara, followed by a recital of eight of Luzzasco Luzzaschi’s Madrigals for 1, 2, and 3 sopranos, as well as several five-part madrigals by Giaches de Wert and Claudio Monteverdi.
