The Case Percussion Ensemble offers a rare performance of Edgard Varese’s Ionisation (1931) for 13 Percussionists. Considered one of the first works composed exclusively for percussion instruments, Ionisation features a massive array sounds, from sirens and anvils to drums, cymbals, gongs, and a lion’s ROAR (see it to believe it), along with dozens of exotic instruments from around the world.
