reqfeatureThe CWRU Music Department celebrates five years of concert collaborations with The Church of the Covenant! This year, our repertoire focuses on works by composer and organ virtuoso Maurice Duruflé.

Requiem: A Celebration of Life

Friday, April 15, 2016

8:00 p.m.

The Church of the Covenant

The program will begin with “Prélude et Fugue sur le nom d’Alain, Op. 7,” performed by Church of the Covenant’s director of music and organist Jonathan W. Moyer. Also featured on the first half of the program are two solos and a duet by Jehan Alain, a contemporary of our featured composer, and Duruflé’s Quatre Motets. Our program concludes with Duruflé’s choral-organ-orchestral masterpiece, Requiem. Join us, and hear how this 20th Century French composer merges the concepts of artistic impressionism with the simplicity of medieval plainchant.
