May 1 and 2, 2017 the Historical Performance Program presented Acis and Galatea at Harkness Chapel. The production can now be viewed on YouTube.
This mythical story of love, death and redemption between a shepherd, a sea nymph and a one-eyed giant (Cyclops) is masterfully brought to life by Handel’s musical imagination. Filled with catchy tunes and rich emotions, it is no wonder that this opera was the composer’s most successful and popular dramatic work. Cast: Margaret Haigh (Galatea), Nathan Dougherty (Acis), Daniel Fridley (Polyphemus), and Merav Eldan (Damon)
